Summary:
Small molecules, new department, in Alomone Labs was established by me.
Its purpose is to organize everything related to the small molecules existing
in the company in order to expand their marketing, in addition to
developing and marketing new organic molecules that work on various ion
channels and not marketed at any other company.
A work plan, which includes the essential needs for the department, such
as: the required physical space, tools, equipment, chemicals, and relevant
instrumentation. Its goals are to recruit employees, create a work plan for
both the employee and the laboratory, which includes all the necessary
analytical and physical tests to be conducted on all products, and to find
the ideal conditions for these tests, changing the information page of the
molecules on the Alomone website, correcting the chemical and physical
information for all organic molecules, and updating the safety data sheets
for all products. Additionally, it involves searching for new suppliers for two
purposes: A. For the purchase of existing molecules, B. Development - by
expanding the company's product range,
The tests and analyses I performed:
NMR, LCMS, GCMS, MELTING POINT, POLARIMETER, SOLUBILITY,
STABILITY, TLC, UV, ELEMENTAL ANALYSIS.
The purchased instruments:
ROTAVAPOR, LCMS, SPECTROPHOTOMETER, OPTICAL ACTIVITY, MELTING
POINT, UV CABINET, SONICATOR, ANALYTICAL BALANCE, WEIGHING HOOD,
VORTEX, MINI CENTRIFUGE, LAB NITROGEN EVAPORATOR SAMPLE, HOT
PLATE WITH STIRRER.
The department has been very successful, which I led to scientific and
managerial excellence, demonstrating extensive professional knowledge
and management ability.
As a head of the small organic molecules department, the main role of my
job was Product development of the department/ Senior chemical
consultant to all the company’s departments/laboratory safety
manager/responsible for poisons, safety trusty, renewing the toxic
substances and the medical toxic substances permits.
I have contributed significantly to the development and leadership of
innovative projects, from the research stages to successful practice in the
field.
The goal was to introduce new small molecules and rare natural products
to the company that are not commercialized anywhere in the world. I
managed to achieve this goal.
As a Natural products and medicinal chemist in the field of cannabinoids
and endocannabinoids I was research associate at the Hebrew university of
Jerusalem for 17 years with expertise in multi-step synthesis, design,
development and characterization of organic compounds (NMR, LCMS,
GC…), and in experimental design techniques (chromatography) , as well as
coordinating testing and development (synthesis of derivatives and
enantiomers of cannabinoids and endocannabinoids and testing them on
many diseases like cancer, rheumatoid arthritis…) . I have much experience
in extractions of natural and biological active products from plants, such as
cannabis, and much experience in the chemical industry.
Adept at developing new applications and products, generating intellectual
properties and providing technical solutions. Practiced in instrument
monitoring and analytical methods performance (NMR, LCMS, GCMS,
Optical rotation, IR, UV).
